Buying
Is there a free trial?
Yes. 14 days, everything working, no card and no account. After that a key costs $3 once and never expires.
Where do I enter the key after I buy?
Open the panel, press the gear, and paste it into the Licence box. It activates straight away, whether your trial is still running or has already ended. The key arrives by email the moment you pay.
How many PCs does one key cover?
3. Replacing a machine? Open Settings on the old one and press Deactivate this PC to free the slot.
Using it
Does it open RAR as well as ZIP?
Yes. RAR extracts exactly like ZIP: same hotkey, same panel, nothing extra to install and no plugin to hunt down.
Can it create or compress archives?
No. EasyUnZip only extracts. Keep whatever you use for making archives; this handles the other direction, which is where the daily friction is.
Which versions of Windows are supported?
Windows 10 and 11, on 64-bit PCs. Windows only. There is no macOS or Linux build, and none is planned. The current release is v0.1.0.
Trust
What leaves my PC?
A one-way hash identifying the PC, the app version, and your licence key when you activate. Never your files, your file names or your archive passwords.
Will Windows warn me when I run the installer?
It may. EasyUnZip v1 is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen can show a “Windows protected your PC” notice simply because it has not seen this file often. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
How do I check the download is the file you built?
Compare the checksum. Open Command Prompt where the installer landed, run certutil -hashfile EasyUnZip-Setup.exe SHA256, and match the result against ours. The button below copies it. We would rather sell this for $3 and have you extracting archives today than add a few hundred dollars a year of certificate to the price. The checksum costs nothing and proves more: it is the whole file, byte for byte, not a name attached to it.
